MGM all-inclusive, United economy beds, JetBlue for sale?
Talking Points - Issue 31

The shutdown left TSA thin. Spring break showed up anyway. Gate areas look like a Lululemon outlet sale, and people are still somehow surprised they need to take out their water bottle and laptop after hours of standing in line. Airports are a lot right now. But funding just got restored, so some sense of normalcy should return soon. Get your points ready.
Key Points
A 9-month-old capybara escaped from an English zoo and has been on the loose for a week. The internet has named it “capiberrie” and is fully invested. Anyway:
🎰 MGM launches all-inclusive $330 Vegas package: Starting April 6, Luxor and Excalibur are offering a bundle: two nights for two from $330 (plus tax), which includes three meals per day, two show tickets, a Big Apple Coaster ride, resort fees, and self-parking. MGM Rewards members still earn tier credits. Fine dining and premium shows are not included, but the math actually works in your favor.
🧱 Bilt adds Wyndham as 25th transfer partner: Wyndham joins Bilt as its 25th transfer partner at 1:1. As expected, it’s also the April 1 Rent Day bonus: a 25–100% transfer bonus to Wyndham based on status (125% if you spend $125 Bilt Cash to bump a tier). Worth noting: Wyndham points run ~0.7 cpp vs. Bilt’s ~2.0 cpp, so even with a 100% bonus, it’s probably not a great transfer.
✈️ United’s new Polaris Studios and Relax Row: United previewed its next-gen 787-9 at LAX — 64 Polaris seats, 8 of which are “Polaris Studio” suites (25% larger). The crowd-pleaser: “Relax Row,” a sky couch concept where three economy seats fold flat into a bed, coming to 787s and 777s in 2027. It’s the first North American carrier to offer this concept.
🫱🏼🫲🏾 JetBlue exploring a sale: Per Semafor, JetBlue has tapped advisers to map out potential mergers with United, Alaska, or Southwest. Planning is preliminary; nothing is confirmed. Stock jumped 13% anyway. JetBlue hasn’t turned a full-year profit since 2019, and Carl Icahn — holding ~10% — has been pushing for an exit. TrueBlue members: worth watching.
